Cast & Creative Team Announced for The Black Rep’s WORLD PREMIERE of  HOLD ON

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 20, 2023. The St. Louis Black Repertory Company announces the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of HOLD ON, written by Paul Webb and directed by Founder and Producing Director Ron Himes. 

The inspiration for the award-winning 2014 feature film “Selma,” HOLD ON opens The Black Rep's 47th main stage season Jan. 12 (with previews Jan. 10-11) and runs through Jan. 28, 2024 at the Edison Theatre on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis. The production is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts and Washington University in St. Louis, with Opening Night Sponsor Ameren and casting support from Peter and Susan Tuteur.

Performing the world premiere will be: Brian Dykstra (Lucky Guy on Broadway, TV: “The Good Fight”) as Lyndon Baynes Johnson and Enoch King (The Light at The Horizon Theatre, TV: “Atlanta”) as Martin Luther King Jr. with Evann De-Bose as Coretta Scott King (Eubie at The Black Rep) and Eric Dean White (The African Company Presents Richard III at The Black Rep, TV; “Chicago Fire”) as George Wallace/Sheriff Clark.

They will be joined by: Joel Antony; Gregory S. Carr; Greg Carr II; Tamara Crawford-Thomas; Jeff Cummings; Olajuwon Davis; Isaiah DiLorenzo; Tammie Holland; Jason J. Little; and Thomas Patrick Riley.

The Creative Team includes: Dunsi Dai (Scene Design); Lamar Harris (Sound Design); Sean M. Savoie (Lighting Design): Marc W. Vital II (Costume Design); Meg Brinkley (Props Design) and Zach Cohn (Projections Design) with Tracy Holliway-Wiggins as Stage Manager and Alan Phillips as Assistant Stage Manager; Kaylie Carpenter and Christian Kitchens as co-Technical Directors; and Ellen Minch, Costume Shop Supervisor.
