Margery A. Handy (Sophie), is elated to return to the St. Louis Black Repertory Company stage in Flyin’ West. Her recent acting credits include: Dance on Widow’s Row (The Black Rep), Steel Magnolias (Tesseract Theatre Company), Kaleidoscope Crown (COCA -STL), Anastasia (Tesseract Theatre Company), and The Inheritance (Tesseract Theatre Company). Award recognitions include the St. Louis Theater Circle Awards - 2025 Outstanding Supporting Performer in a Drama Female (The Inheritance), 2025 Outstanding Ensemble in a Musical (Anastasia), 2025 Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama (The Inheritance) and the Arts for Life Best Performance Award - 2016 Best Comedic Actress (Wizard of Oz). Directorial credits include: Gee’s Bend (Alton Little Theater) and Where’s My Inheritance? (ICM Productions). RENEE LOCKETT (Miss Leah), is elated to make The Black Rep debut in Flyin West. She is blessed to have spent the last few decades working on some of the Midwest’s finest stages and film studio lots. Last seen on stage in Constellation Stages production of Wipeout, she’s also worked at Steppenwolf, Court Theatre, Northlight, The Gift Theatre, Door County Shakespeare, Looking glass and Victory Gardens, to name a few. Renee currently also be seen on the small screen as Dorothy Brown in all 3 seasons of the Comedy Central series South Side on HBOMax, and the new thriller Emperor of Ocean Park on MGM+. JAZZMA PRYOR (Fannie Dove), is so excited for her first performance with The Black Rep! She is an award-winning actress, multi-hyphenate theater artist, and ensemble member of Shattered Globe Theatre in Chicago. Some of her Chicago credits include: A Tale of Two Cities, Jump, STEW, Hannah and Martin, and Crime and Punishment (Shattered Globe Theatre); Until The Flood, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf, The Light, Twilight: Los Angeles,1992, Sunset Baby, and From The Mississippi Delta (Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre); Doubt: A Parable (Irish Theatre of Chicago); Phillis: The American Revolutionary (Redd Opera); Insurrection: Holding History (Stage Left Theatre); Marisol (Promethean Theatre); and Prelude to a Kiss (The Comrades). Jazzma has a M.S. in Leadership for Creative Enterprises from Northwestern University and B.A. in Production Studies in Theatre from Clemson University. She is represented by Gray Talent Group. Live. REGINALD “REGGIE” WILSON (Will Parrish), a native of Tallahassee, Florida, launched his professional career in New York City as an intern with Woodie King Jr. at The New Federal Theatre. He received the AUDELCO Award for Lead Actor for his powerful performance as Levee in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Wilson later portrayed Sugar Ray Robinson in Laurence Holder’s Sugar Ray, earning another AUDELCO for Best Solo Performance. In 2024, he won two additional AUDELCO Awards—Lead Actor and Best Supporting Actor—and was honored with a Special Achievement Award. Additional New York stage credits include Blues for Mister Charlie, Fences, Zooman and the Sign, Unentitled, Miss Julie, Stockholm Savings, Black Angels Over Tuskegee, Haiti’s Children of God, The Whistle in Mississippi, The Meeting, and Watch the Throne. Regional stage credits include Pipeline (Portland, Oregon), Fences (Pittsburg, PA), Radio Golf (St. Louis, MO), Newberry (Gainesville, FL), Cowboy (Miami, FL), Feed The Beast (Pittsburg, PA) and Searching for Willie Lynch (Pittsburg, PA). He served as Assistant Director for NEC’s award-winning remount of A Soldier’s Play and directed Dearly Departed at Mars Hill University. As a playwright, Wilson has penned Scrambled Eggs, Da Rapture, and Platinum Grilled and Spirit Filled, works that confront domestic violence with honesty and urgency. He holds a BA from Florida A&M. University and an MFA from the University of Florida and is represented by Gabrielle Holder at Gill Talent Group.
CHRISTINA YANCY (Minnie Dov Charles)—originally from Alabama—is a multi-hyphenate theatre artist and arts administrator. She holds a B.F.A. in Acting from the University of Montevallo. Acting Credits: A Brick and A Bible (Bread and Roses Missouri) This Will Be (Midnight Theatre Company); The Wash, Wedding Band, Behind the Sheet, Home, and Spell #7 (The St. Louis Black Repertory Company); King Lear, A Midsummer Night’s Dream [2022 Tour and 2025 Remount], and The Merry Wives of Windsor (St. Louis Shakespeare Festival); and the 2022–2023 season with the Imaginary Theatre Company (The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis). AARON ALLEN (Frank Charles), is a New York based actor by way of North Carolina. Notable credits include: The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, Saint Joan, and Twelfth Night. Training includes: B.A. in Theatre from UNC-Charlotte, M.F.A in Acting from UNC-Greensboro, Chautauqua Theatre Academy, HB Studio, and Lucid Body.
