TOURING SHOWS

Touring Shows takes live theatre performances to schools and community venues across Missouri and Illinois. Each 45-60 minute performance is developed with specific grades/ages in mind and includes a study guide for teachers as well as a 15-minute talk back with the cast and crew.

Performance Space

These shows are designed to be presented in most open spaces such as multipurpose rooms, gymnasiums and theatre auditoriums. No special lighting or sound equipment required.

Performance Enrichment

Touring productions are accompanied by educational study guides with pre- and post-performance activities designed to enlighten educators and students.

Educational Development

The performance experience can be used to develop activities that:

  • Develop the imagination 

  • Simulate further practice in writing comprehension, and oral skills

  • Foster interest in participation in the arts

  • Encourage the study of history and literature

  • Develop appreciation for the unique artistic expression of diverse culture

 

Things to consider for your booking: 

  • Performances run approximately 50 minutes

  • The touring company performs to an audience size of 250 or less

  • All bookings will need to be booked at least 7 days prior to performance date

Season 49 Touring Shows

SLEEPING BEAUTY

In this twist on the beloved fairy tale, a traditional storyteller reading from his all too well-known book of Sleeping Beauty is quickly usurped by the story's feisty villain, the evil Griselda. With a magical spell, she literally turns back the hands of time to show what really happened to "Sleeping Betty." Fortunately, two good fairies and a magical frog help set the story straight, and make sure everyone lives happily ever after.

THE SECRET GALLERY: AFRICAN AMERICAN ADVENTURES

This show follows a group of high school students as they find themselves on an extraordinary journey that will forever change their perception of art and the world around them

TAKUNDA

Grades: 6-12, Community

Sixteen-year old Takunda's world is turned upside down when her father is arrested for his political activities in the turbulent Rhodesia of 1973. This coming of age story incorporates African folk tales and songs, featuring an ensemble of four actors and the vibrant art of storytelling.
